Leg Warmers: more meaning than just warmth!

All fashionista's know what leg warmers are.. and if not, I shall fill you in! They are simply one huge "tube" of fabric that covers the ankles/lower leg. They are similar to socks.. except footless. These ingenious warm accessories were first worn by ballet dancers to keep their muscles from cramping. So why do girls still keep them around?
The 1980s is when teenage girls started wearing leg warmers as a fashion statement, which therefore turned it into a fad. Now that it is currently 2010, it is no longer a fad, but better yet a trend. Back in the day, these accessories were made of wool, camel hair, and sheep dog hair. They are now manufactured mainly with cotton. Here is a picture of me in my fabulous pair:

They can be paired with boots (just as I and many others do) or with any flat shoe. I found mine at Payless Shoe Source, during their "BOGO" event; $7.99 isn't too bad to keep up with this trend!
