Lionsgate offers Hunger Games sequel to Francis Lawrence

Catching Fire, the second instalment in the Hunger Games series, may soon have a new director in the shape of I Am Legend's Francis Lawrence.

In the wake of Gary Ross's abrupt departure, the studio has had to move quickly to find a replacement, with filming scheduled to begin in August ahead of a November 2013 release date. Their list of candidates was apparently whittled down to a final pair, with Moneyball director Bennett Miller reportedly considered before an offer was made to Lawrence.

One of the factors behind that decision may well have been Miller's availability, given that he is currently prepping Steve Carell drama Foxcatcher ahead of a December start.

Should Lawrence accept the offer, he'll find himself thrown into a ludicrously tight production schedule, with filming having to start in a matter of months in order to ensure Jennifer Lawrence is able to shoot the X-Men: First Class sequel in January.

Time constraints were what eventually led Ross to step down from his position, with the director doubting his ability to live up to the first film under such tight margins. Let's hope Lawrence can pull it out of the bag, should he accept the opportunity…

Jennifer Lawrence Shakes Her Groove Thing

In The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence is rarely seen without a bow and arrow close to her side, while she wears her casual clothing and goes make-up free. So now that the actress is on the promotional trail, launching the film across the world, she is ensuring she looks her best.

The 21-year-old made a visit to Madrid earlier today to appear on TV show El Hormiguero. Jennifer looked stunning as she stepped on to the studio floor and matched the frock with some black strappy heels.

She wore her hair up and happily waved to the audience as she made her way on set. But she clearly hadn't intended to have to relive the drama of the film during her appearance as she had dressed demurely for the chat.

Jennifer plays Katniss Everdeen in the movie, a teenager who has to fight for her life on TV after volunteering to step in for her younger sister. In the trailer and stills for the film, the actress is shown expertly showing off her archery skills. And despite wearing unsuitable clothing for the activity, she had to demonstrate her skills again by using a bow and arrow on set to aim at a watermelon.

A bemused Jennifer played along and still managed to look stylish and collected as she pointed her bow. But as she was asked to carry out other odd activities she screwed up her face or laughed at what was put in front of her.

She was also handed plastic action dolls of the characters in the movie. And she showed off her acting skills once more as she joked around and played with the figurines in front of the audience.

The movie doesn't get released in Spain until Thursday, but it has so far received rave reviews at the American box office. Based on the first book in Suzanne Collins’ hugely successful trilogy of the same name, the film grossed $155million in the U.S. and made $214.3 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

It stars Jennifer, as heroine Katniss Everdeen, Woody Harrelson as her drunken mentor Haymitch Abernathy, and Donald Sutherland as the evil President Snow.

Some parents have complained the film scenes of murder and bloodshed were too graphic to be appropriate for children and suggested an R rating.

Megan Fox and Her Pregnancy Rumours...

Still a no show! Megan Fox as slim as ever during outing with Brian Austin Green despite pregnancy rumours...    She has yet to comment on reports she is pregnant with her first child. The news broke last month the 25-year-old is going to be a mother for the first time, but the Transformers actress has been keeping mum despite the furore. And she tried to keep her head down after emerging from an upmarket salon following an expensive facial treatment. In fact Megan looked as slim as ever in a black hooded top, grey leggings and baseball cap after her well-deserved indulgence session.

Of course, it may just be the pretty actress is too early in her pregnancy to show, as some women do not start to show until they are well into their second trimester or even the start of their third trimester. According to the initial reports, the actress and her former Small ville star husband are not going to confirm the news officially until she’s further along in her pregnancy.

The Friends with Kids star has already had lots of parenting practice as she is stepmother to Brian's nine-year-old son Kassius, his child with actress Vanessa Marcil. The source said: 'Megan has become a great step mom, and Brian knows she'll be wonderful with the baby.

'She has really grown in the past couple of years ... her family comes first.' Megan, who was infamously dubbed 'dumb-as-a-rock' by Transformers crew members in a public letter on Michael Bay's website, married Brian in June 2010 at the Four Seasons Resort in Hawaii.

They first met in 2004 on the set of Hope & Faith. They became engaged two years later but broke things off in early 2009. The couple became engaged again in June the following year and promptly married.

When you think of Shia LaBeouf, you probably think of him rudely claiming he had sex with Megan Fox when she was with her current husband, 90210‘s eternal babe Brian Austin Green.

 Or maybe you think of his numerous legal troubles. If you are anything like me though, you definitely consider his work as a child actor in Even Stevens to be his greatest achievement to date. I mean, that show was GOLD.

Kate Upton goes back in time for Old Hollywood glamour Terry Richardson shoot

 Kate Upton is Terry Richardson's latest muse as she poses in a series of Old Hollywood-inspired looks. The 19-year-old Sports Illustrated model is seen lounging by the pool with the famed photographer at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the spread for Harper's Bazaar U.S., wearing a leg-baring Hermes hood dress, which retails at $3,000.

Richardson plays her companion in the shot, lounging around next to her in a baby pink dressing gown while reading a copy of The Hollywood Reporter. In another shot, Upton gets some star power from 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto.

The curvaceous models is positively dripping with glamour in a plunging white Chloe gown costing $3,095, which shows off her ample cleavage. She teams the look with a Elsa Peretti necklace and smoulders into the camera with smoky eyes with her blonde locks tumbling over one shoulder.

Leading man Leto puts his arm around her and looks distinguished in a Rat Pack-inspired suit and hat.  Upton also poses with Parks And Recreation actor Aziz Ansari, wearing a $8,900 leopard print Gucci coat. Kate is enjoying the spotlight right now after appearing as the cover star of this year Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She can currently be seen play a saucy nun in slapstick comedy The Three Stooges.

Her religious-inspired swimsuit - dubbed a nun-kini - which she wears in a scene in the film has caused quite a stir and provoked outrage from the Catholic League. The May issue of Harper’s Bazaar U.S. hits newsstands on April 24.
