OPI Sanguine!

So I am usually not a red polish fan, but this changed my mind.

This is an amazing dark, garnet type color and it was beautiful. I have to admit that after I put it on, it did take me a little while to get used to and when I did I fell in love. In the picture I have on 2 coats, but I probably could have gone with 3. Also, I didn't use a top coat because it was pretty glossy as is, but I think I really should have. I felt like the glossy finish kind of faded after a few days and the top coat would have helped retain it.

Seriously though I wish I had this color for my senior prom. I had red polish, but this one would have been 100x more awesome.

The application is good as long as you have enough polish on the brush and the formula is great. It dries pretty fast, which I was pleasantly surprised about.

I really wanted to do a lacey looking Konad stamp over this color, I thought it would look awesome. But when I tried, the color was just too dark and you really couldn't see the black stamp over it. I might try it with a brighter red or a white and I'll probably post it. Also, next I'm going to put up Unripened ( I was most excited about that one out of the whole collection).

The collection itself is decent, nothing really special, but the promo pick is effing RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING. I'm kind of in love with it. So definitely check that out!!

Another break from Fashion; Investigation with GHI

the Ghost Hunters International team.

I spent the entire past weekend with the team from the show "Ghost Hunters International." The team consists of Kris Williams, Barry Fitzgerald, Paul Bradford, Joe Chin, Susan Slaughter, and Britt Griffith. Chip Coffey from "Psychic Kids" and "Paranormal State" was also at the event, along with Bill Murphy from "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files." This event took place in Batavia, NY and included an investigation at Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany. Rolling Hills was featured on the shows "Ghost Hunters" and "Ghost Adventures."
Three days consisted of this event, with the first night being a meet-and-greet and Q&A session. Following the Q&A was... karaoke time! I left before all of the team sang karaoke, but I sure got my share. I dedicated it to my friends Britt Griffith & Aaron Sagers just for the heck of it. Take a listen!







The second day was filled with lectures with the investigation at night, and the third day was more lectures. Many laughs filled the room all weekend during the lectures, especially the Q&A. At least I found out that Chip owns a million scarves and graphic tees, and Barry actually takes off his hat! The investigation was literally freezing, but was worth every second. Many people claimed to have personal experiences, but I unfortunately did not. I did get a few K2 & Maglite hits, but other than that, nothing extreme happened. This was my third event with the Ghost Hunters crew. I investigated Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly back in April with Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, Kris, Chip, and Britt. I also investigated Buffalo Central Terminal in May with Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, also from "Ghost Hunters Academy."

I always have such a blast at these events. I can't wait until the next time I can go. They're so much fun, and these people are always so wonderful and down to Earth. I advise anyone to investigate with them.... if you dare.

OPI Obscurity!

This is the first one of the OPI Go Goth minis that I decided to try. I really like the idea of matte nail polishes, I have for a while, and I was excited to try the matte black. 

Because of the flash, it looks like the polish has more shine than it does in real life. I really loved this polish in general. The formula was great and the application was super smooth as long as you had enough polish on the brush. There were no streaks and it was really easy to cover up any mistakes and flaws. This picture was taken 3 days after the application and it really hadn't started chipping yet. Obviously, there was no top coat because that would void the matte finish. The only downside to this was that because it is in a mini bottle, the applicator is shorter and can be a little harder to manipulate. 

Since I put this on I've really been liking the black matte look and my obsession for Manglaze has been rekindled. I'm definitely getting some soon, probably Matte is Murder and Fuggen Ugly. When I get those I'll do a side by side comparison. 

Also, I'll be trying out and putting up the other Go Goths.

OPI Go Goth minis!

I finally received my OPI Go Goth mini collection in the mail and here are the first pics

From left to right:

             Unripened- In the bottle it looks a black base with some duochrome glitter. It looks really awesome and I'll put pics of it up later on

Nevermore- It looks like a glittery, inky purple blue

Sanguine- A deep shimmer, red

Obscurity- Matte black

This is the back of the box, it has 3 different nail designs and how to do them. They look pretty cool, especially the first one called swirls of mist. Btw, if you click on the pictures you can get a better, enlarged view. 

They are super cute little bottles, maybe a little smaller than I expected, but what can you do? I've seen pictures of the colors online and I'm really excited to test them out and I'll definitely be putting up pics of each individual color and I'll comment on the application and formula when those go up. If anyone is interested in buying these, I purchased them on Amazon. 

But on another note,  I couldn't leave my nails alone knowing that I had perfectly good Konad stamping gear and so I stamped the rest of my nails and came up with this.

And I thought it was fantastic! I love the contrast between the black and the sparkles. In person its amazing!

Urban Decay Is Here!!!!!

My recent Urban Decay Purchase!!!

Urban Decay Loose Pigment Eye Shadow 
Price: $20 for 1.2g/ 0.04 oz 

In order:

Shattered- aqua-blue, very intense and pigmented, with a frost finish.
Graffiti- grassy green, doesn't go on as bold as I expected.
Protest- very dark forest green with silver shimmer.
Gunmetal- dark gray with silver shimmer.
Goddess-  the website describes it as a "midnight-blue" however it is closer to black. It does have blue micro glitter which reflects in the light. (One of my favorites)
Smog- bronze with copper, very pigmented.
x- peachy color with a gold reflection.
Asphyxia- light fuchsia with purple reflecting through.

Overall, they have a very nice color and are pigmented. However, the darker colors are a bit looser and messier. I am not a fan of the packaging because I use my own brushes therefore, it becomes a problem to take out the product.  But if you are not going to be using brushes and are using the applicator they come with then you will have no problem.
Urban Decay only offers 12 colors, which is limited, however if they come out with more colors I plan on buying them. The quality of the pigments are very good and when you apply the color it is very close to what you see in the package.




I applied the pigments over NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in the shade Cottage Cheese. This gave a neutral and consistent color to work over.

Covet- jewel tone teal with a slight shimmery finish. 

In the photo the thin line is done without any color under, the thicker one has the NYX color under (same color used above). 

I love the 24/7 Glide- On pencils because they are very pigmented and smooth to apply. You do not have to keep gliding the pencil over and over to achieve the color. They also last very long and quick to apply. 

Urban Decay offers 9 travel size pencils for $36. (Not bad for 9 different colors). 

They recently offered the 15- year Anniversary 24/7 Pencil Set. This set has 15 full size pencils  (6 are new shades) with a sharpener.  The price is $92. I am definitely considering buying them!!!!

Smoke Out Eye Pencil

So if you are looking for a smokey eye, these are the ones to get. The pencils have two sides, one the pencil and the other has a little sponge in order to smudge the color. The color is matte (no shimmer), and are powdery which allows for a long lasting smokey look.

Big Fatty Colored Mascara

So these mascaras are very bright. I have not tried them yet, so I can't comment on the quality but I really love the colors and how bright they are. It will be fun to try them!!

My new friend Mr. Konad!!

So my Konad stuff came in today!!! it was an exciting moment in my life and of course I had to test it out.

These are the 2 plates that I got:

                                                M57 on the left and M60 on the right.

For my first try I used the M57, the leopard print. 

I already had on 2 coats of the OPI Simmer and Shimmer from the Burlesque collection. It really has a bluer tint in real life, but my camera obviously didn't capture it. fail. Anyway, for the stamping I used the Konad black polish that I ordered as well. This stuff dries SUPER FAST, so you really have to work fast when applying the polish to the plate, scraping it off and getting it on the stamper and then onto your nails.
