OPI He's My Boo and LA Girls Uninhibited

So, I bought Uninhibited a while ago, but haven't really had a chance to wear it besides my original swatches. I figured it was perfect for halloween though.

One coat of LA Girls Uninhibited over two coats of OPI He's My Boo. Keeping up with the halloween theme with orange and black. I thought it was good opportunity to use the black glitter that is Uninhibited. It's not terribly exciting, I think I was expecting it to be a little more exciting, but that just didn't happen. 

But anyway, it's kind of halloweeny and looks speckled and kind of cool.

LA Girls Uninhibited

We've finally made it! The last one!

One coat of Uninhibited over one coat of Brucci Alexandra's "Hot" Gray. I have never seen a black glitter before and that's why I had to get this. It's a clear base with various sizes of black glitter. It's not really sparkly or anything, but thats not too unexpected since it is black. It looks pretty cool and reminds me of a speckled egg or something. I think it would look really cool over red or hot pink! And now that my nails are short (as you'll see a while from now, the nest few posts will have pictures that I took before I cut them off) I might try just the glitter and see how that looks.

LA Girls Graphite and Zoya promo code

The last LA Girls Metal! And after this just one for LA Girls polish!!

Graphite, one coat. Yes, just one coat. This has a dark greyish base with silver shimmer/micro glitter. This is a very common color, I feel like I've recently seen loads of colors that look exactly like this. Anyway, it does look metallic-ish in the shade and foily in the sunlight. It's really really nice in the sunlight.

This had the best formula out of all the Metals. It was thicker like Millennium, but was completely opaque in one coat. Totally impressed with this one since the others were definitely lacking. Just because of the formula, this is probably my favorite out of all of them. Really, they all should have had the same formulation and if they did, the whole collection would have been an A+ for me.

LA Girls Millennium

This is one of the polishes that has a better formula.

Millennium, two coats. This is a purple base with silver glitter/ shimmer. It's really pretty and shiny in the sunlight, but all of these Metals polishes are pretty dull in the shade. Enlarge the picture above to really see how awesome this looks in the sun. 

Millennium definitely has one of the better formulas. It was much thicker and opaque in one coat, but a little light so I added another coat. I'm not sure why the first two polishes I tried had thin, sheer formulas and this one was thicker. In theory they should all be the same. If they all had this formulation they would be fantastic.

LA Girls Antique Gold

Still truckin' on with this LA Girls stuff, this is the next Metal shade.

Antique Gold, three coats. I loved this because its not just a regular gold, which always looks awkward on my skin tone. It definitely lives up to its name and it very antique looking. It's a dark base with lots of the gold shimmer/ micro glitter and even has some slighlty holo pieces that flash green and orange that you can see if you enlarge the first picture.

The formula is pretty much identical to Metallic Olive. It's much more sheer than it should be, but what can you do. Other than that, it's a pretty good formula, no big negatives.

LA Girls Metallic Olive

The next four polishes that I got are from the Metal collection, these are obviously supposed to be metallic. I was super excited to try this one.

Metallic Olive, three coats. So it's not really metallic and it's not really olive, but I'm totally digging the color. This has a dark base and loads of the green micro glitter that does flash a somewhat olive color. It's a dark forest green that's totally in for this fall and it matches my eyes :) 

The formula was very nice and smooth but pretty sheer and needed at least three coats to be completely opaque. I think the sheerness came from the thinness of the polish, I had mixed formulas with these Metals, some where thick and opaque with one coat and others needed three. Other than that I really like this polish and even though it is older, it's totally on trend for this fall.

LA Girls Supernova

The final Rockstar polish, a fantastic "glitter".

Supernova, three or four coats (can't really remember). I love this, it's that stringy confetti type glitter, a lot like Sally Hansen In the Spotlight but way thinner pieces. Super holo and overall awesome. It has a sheer base that's tinted probably with black so it looks like a super super super sheer grey. Enlarge it to get a better look, sorry if it's a little blurry.

Here are both glitters side by side over three coats of Groupie. Index and middle have one coat of Double Platinum (see how dense it is?!! Awesome!). Ring and pinky have one coat of Supernova. You can really see how holo it is. 

Overall, I love these both. Very holo, very cool. Both had pretty much the same formula, smooth and apply evenly. They just have different base colors and amount of glitter.

LA Girls Double Platinum

Out of the four Rockstar polishes that I got, two are glitters! This is the first one.

Double Platinum, four coats. This has a sheer base with an almost gold tint to it and its chock full of silver and holo glitter and micro glitter. It's most likely meant to be a layering glitter but it is very pretty on its own. It would take a lot to make this completely opaque but if your nails are short enough or if you don't mind your tips showing, then this is just fine. It really bothers me when my tips show so it'd have to do way more coats.

You definitely NEED to enlarge this to see the awesome holo glitter. It's amazing, I love it. I tried this one over a few of the other LA Girls polishes that I got and it's great(you'll see one of those in my next post). This is definitely a quality glitter.

LA Girls Groupie

Our nailtastic week continues with the continuation of my LA Girls haul.

Groupie, three coats. It is very similar to Punk (click for that post) in the formula and finish. It has a purple base like you see in the picture and also has lots of that foily shimmer/glitter. In the bottle it looks purple that flashes pink, but on the nails you don't see much pink. If you enlarge the pictures you'll be able to see the pink.

In the sun most of that pink is gone and it goes from purple to blue. You can see the metallicy, foiliness of it here. 

The formula is pretty much exactly like Punk, maybe a little more sheer. It also has a tendency to pick up a little too much polish, so be aware of that. Overall, its a good polish for a good price. No complaints. I do suggest a top coat for all LA Girls polishes because they do tend to dull.

LA Girls Punk

This is one of the nine LA girls colors from my recent Cherry Culture haul. I went a little nuts. I already have another eight polishes in my wish list. Anyway, this is Punk from their Rock Star collection/ set.

From the bottle you can see that the main color is blue but it also flashes purple and gold at times.

Punk, two coats. It's a really interesting color. It has a blue base and tons of this foily shimmer. It's really cool and super sparkly in the sun.

I love this cerulean color that it takes on in the shade. Beautiful.

Here you can see the change from purple on top to blue on the bottom that you get at certain angles. Love it.

The formula was just about what I expected, a little sheer and needed at least two coats to be opaque. It was also a tiny bit watery and the brush had a tendency to pick up too much polish, so you definitely need to be extra careful and get excess polish off the brush. Also, you for sure need a top coat because this does dull out. But I have to say that removal was way easier than I expected. 

And just because it's called Punk, I had to add a little punk to it with the anarchy A. I've always had a soft spot for punks, so I was really drawn to this color. 

You also may have noticed that I cut my nails and shaped them. Looking back they totally looked like witch nails and needed a good shaping. Do you like your nail short or longer? And what shape?

LA Girls Matte Turquoise and Alpine Green

I've had these polishes for probably almost two years and pretty much forgot about them until just recently when I bought nine LA Girls polishes (yeah, I know). So I figured before I started with my new ones, I'd go through these first (and I'd like to apologize for the sloppy swatches in advance).

Turquoise, two coats. It's a little more green toned in real life. This is without a base coat and without a top coat. It has a slightly more vinyl looking finish, versus a completely matte finish. Here it's still a bit tacky.

Alpine Green, two coats. My boyfriend chose this one because it's his favorite color and I bought it. Man, it totally made me look like a witch. It's a very interesting green, its kind of a green teal. It's also tacky in this picture and does dry a little more matte, but also has that vinyl like finish.

Overall, the formula is smooth on these and isn't streaky. It covers pretty nicely, but isn't completely opaque in one coat so I suggest at least two. The colors are very nicely pigmented and dry time is decent.    Pretty good matte polishes.
