Zoya's Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange!

Trade in your old polishes for new ones from Zoya!

Here’s all you need to do!

1.    Go to www.zoya.com, pick out the polishes you would like and add them to your cart. You must select at
least 6 and no more than 24 bottles of polish (Salons accounts minimum 12 maximum 48 bottles).
2.    Apply the code: EARTHZOYA2012
3.    Your order value will be adjusted to reflect a 50% discount (we use these funds to properly dispose of
       the old nail polish).
4.    Review and SUBMIT your order!

Then you can ship back your old polishes (an amount up to the amount you ordered). Here's how:

Once you get your order (Here is where the exchanging* happens)…

1.    Ship back the equivalent number of bottles to the ones you received to the return address below
(ie. If you got 6 bottles of Zoya – you would send us up to 6 NON-ZOYA polishes). Please check with
your carrier on the proper way to ship nail polish.

 2.    Include a copy of your order.

Just one more important thing, you cannot send back any Zoya, Qtica or Nocti polishes. Only brands other than Zoya brands apply.

Of course, I thought about doing this, but there are really only 3 Zoya polishes that I want at the moment *sighs*

Nail of the Week!

Here it is!

The base is two coats of Zoya Dove, then I used Milani FX Jewel in Gems for the accent. It's supposed to be like a glitter half moon manicure. It came out better the first time I did it, this time I tried a different way of shaping the glitter. I also did a coat of Essie Good To Go as my top coat.

The fist time I did it I used Brucci Alexandra's "Hot" Gray, which chips much more quickly than Dove.

I really like the combo of glitter and grey polishes, the grey was pretty boring by itself. It's not the season for greys.

Nail of the Day!!

First and foremost, Happy April Fools Day! So, this is more like my nail of the week because I'm liking it a lot. I really wanted something different.

Thumb- Sinful Colors Black on Black and one coat of Wet n' Wild Spoiled Pet My Peacock
Pointer- OPI Alpine Snow
Middle- Sinful Colors Black on Black
Ring- Zoya Sooki (red), Milani Racy Green (green) and an Art Club polish in white for the detailing
Pinky- OPI Alpine Snow

Thumb- OPI Alpine Snow
Pointer- Sinful Colors Black on Black
Middle- OPI Alpine Snow
Ring- Zoya Sooki (red), Milani Racy Green (green) and an Art Club polish in white for the detailing
Pinky- Sinful Colors Black on Black and one coat of Wet n' Wild Spoiled Pet My Peacock

I don't really know what inspired me, I wanted my ring fingers to be kind of tribal looking then kept the others just pretty normal, but then I added glitter to two of my fingers just to make them all a little different. I really wanted every finger to be different, which is also why I alternated black and white on each finger on each hand.

I can't really see changing it any time soon, but I did buy Essie Good to Go to try out, so I'll have to redo some fingers (most like the black or white ones) just to test it out lol

Zoya Sooki

This was the free red polish that I got with during the Zoya Valentine's Day promo.

(sorry about the horrible cuticles)
Sooki, one coat. This is a bright, cool toned red creme. It's like a bright cherry/ fire engine red. I'm still on the fence about reds, I don't think they look that great on me, but this is really nice regardless. I really like that it is cool toned, I'm not really a fan of warm reds because they lend to lean more orange.

Formula was amazing, just like Avery. Its completely opaque in one coat and the formula is super creamy and smooth which definitely helps in getting a nice even coat. A plus with all Zoya polishes is that they are self leveling, which means if you don't apply it that evenly at first, it will level itself out. That's probably one of my favorite things about Zoya.

Zoya Avery

This is one of the polishes that I got during Zoya's Valentine's Day promo, I bought this one and chose Sooki (review to come) as my free red polish. As, I've said before, Zoya has the best promotions and if you don't follow them on Twitter or Facebook or both, I really suggest you do.

sun
Avery, one coat. Yes, that's right, I did say one coat. This is a super creamy, opaque, beige, nude shade. It's a pretty perfect beige, not too yellow and not too pink. I know some people really don't like 'mannequin' hands, but I'm personally a huge fan, so loveeee this. I think it can work for a few different skin tones also. I'm pretty pale and I loved it, but it will also work on skin tones that are a little darker than mine, so it's pretty versatile. And it's a great transition polish because it works in any season!

Formula wise, yeah amazing! I can't rant and rave enough about the Zoya creme formula. This is completely opaque in one coat, and I mean completely. I usually like to do a second coat just in case, but for this I did not need it at all. Ah-maz-ing.

Valentine's Day Nails and Zoya Promo!!

Like every other holiday, Valentine's Day snuck up on me. I had two looks planned, but didn't do either of them. So, I thought I'd show what my Valentine's nails looked like even though they weren't actually Valentine's themed.

So, this is pretty bad lighting and I apologize.
OPI Vampsterdam (to be reviewed) as the base and an accent of Wet n Wild Spoiled Jewelry Heist (also to be reviewed) on the ring finger.

It's kind of Valentine's day-ish, but not really lol. I thought it was pretty either way, I'm a fan of the glitter accent I did.

Also, Zoya is having a Valentine's Day promo! You get a free bottle of red polish and free shipping with any order with code WELUVU. This ends today at 11:59pm so jump on it! I wasn't going to get anything, but it's such a good deal that I had to. I got Avery and Sooki!

Until next time,

Zoya Julieanne!

Finally a sunny day! So I was actually able to take some pictures! Wooohooo

Julieanne, three coats. This is a dark royal blue/purple base with purple/pink glass flecks. You don't get much of the pink in the pictures but you can see them better in real life and more so in the bottle. In the bottle, the flecks also have a gold duochrome, but that doesn't come out on the nail, you can kind of see it on the bottom of the bottle of the first picture. Remember, you can enlarge these pictures by clicking on them.

The formula on this was much sheerer than I'm used to with Zoya, granted it isn't a creme. It is from the same collection as Edyta (that I reviewed here) and so the formulations are the same. It was pretty opaque in two coats, but three intensified the color. Since it is pretty sheer, you should do thin coats for better layering.

Overall, I really like this polish, I don't think I have a color exactly like this so it's a nice addition to my collection. It's actually my 10th Zoya polish! Yay! I have yet to be disappointed with any Zoya polish I have tried, definitely a brand to try out especially during one of their awesome promos!

Until next time,

Zoya Kristen Swatches and Review! Plus Feel, True and Fleck Effect collection plates!!

So yesterday my Zoya order finally came! Two days early! But it did take about a week and a half to actually ship because of the volume of orders they got for the get 2 polishes free promo. I hope you all took advantage of that promo! I got Kristen and Julieanne and somehow two color plates got added to my order, one for the Feel collection and the other for the True collection and Fleck Effects, which is perfect since that was exactly what my last post was about.

Zoya Kristen, two coats. This is a dusty blue creme, I think it's a cornflower blue if I'm recalling the correct crayon haha. It's a really pretty light blue with a slight purple tone to it. I think it looks a little more purple on me, but for some reason it looks more grey in this picture. It really has a much more sky-ish blue tone. I may have to take a better picture in better light : / But it's pretty anyway!

Kristen is from the Feel collection and since I have the color plates, here it is!

Left to right:
Kristen
Carey
Megan
Kendal
Kennedy
Avery

All really pretty dusty colored neutrals. I actually love them for winter. They aren't bright or too pastel and definitely don't look like Easter colors!

Now for the highly anticipated True collection and Fleck Effect mylar glazes!

The True collection
Left to right:
Cho
Farah
Bevin
Skylar
Tru
Lotus

Close ups of Cho, Farah and Bevin

Close ups of Skylar, Tru and Lotus.
You should enlarge these to see the shimmer.

Still not sure how I feel about these. Cho and Farah are more neutrals that I don;'t think Zoya really needs and I'm not sure how they even fit into the collection.

Fleck Effect glazes
Left to right:
Maisie
Opal
Chloe
Maisie over Skylar
Opal over Bevin
Chloe over Tru

Close ups of Maisie, Opal and Chloe

Close ups of Maisie over Skylar, Opal over Bevin and Chloe over Tru

I wasn't sure about these because of the colored bases, and now that I see them...ehhhhh. But when layered.. woahhhhh! They look so much better! Opal over Bevin is a little underwhelming for me, but I like Maisie over Skylar and LOVE Chloe over Tru! Just look at it! You need to enlarge it! It's like purple and deep red and gold and multicolored and amazing! I could get those two polishes just to pair together.

So, overall I'm a little confused about the True collection, not sure why some colors are in there. or what the collection is supposed to be about. I really don't get any kind of feeling from it. I do like some of the pairings of the Fleck Effect glazes and True collection colors though.

What do you guys think about this collection?

Zoya True Collection and Fleck Effect Mylar Glazes!

While on the complete topic flakie polishes, I thought I would mention Zoya's new True Collection for spring which just happens to be paired with Fleck Effect Mylar Glazes, a trio of flakie polishes!

The True Collection
left to right:
Choan opaque yellow-toned light soft peachy beige with a hint of ultra fine silver shimmer
Farahan opaque light khaki-beige with subtle sandy, greenish undertones and a cream finish
Bevina dusty, medium sage green with teal tones and a creamy opaque finish
Skylara medium steel blue with a softened, dusty look and speckled by visible gold and silver shimmer flecks
Tru- a saturated, red-toned grape purple with speckled shimmer that reflects gold, orange and red
Lotus- a very soft, dusty blue-toned amethyst purple with colorful shimmer that reflects pink, red and gold

Fleck Effect Mylar Glazes
left to right:
Maisiea sheer turquoise blue base with reflective Mylar flakes that shift from green to blue
Opalsheer green base with reflective Mylar flakes that shift from bright green to blue
Chloe- sheer coral pink base with two types of duochrome Mylar flakes: red-orange to gold and gold-green to blue

Zoya doing flakies?!!! WHAA??? Yes, my mind was blown as well. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about the Fleck Effect polishes because of the colored bases, I usually don't like colored bases for flakie polishes. But on the other hand, I kind of like the True Collection. I'm actually on the fence about it, but I really like Skylar and both purples.

Pretty sure they are already available for purchase on Zoya's website, so have at it!!

Until next time,

Zoya Neeka!!

This is a little late, but better late than never. I got this when I got Jem during one of Zoya's flash promos.

(shade)

(sun)
Neeka, one or two coats (can't remember, swatched this a while ago). I really like this color, it is a dusty purple with gold flecks! Definitely a fan!

Formula was really good as usual, smooth with great coverage and self leveling. The pigmentation is also great which allows for less coats while being completely opaque. It also dries pretty quickly, which is always good. It

I really wanted to try Essie As Gold As It Gets over this just to add some more gold flecks to the mix, but I didn't get a chance to so I'll have to save that for another day.

Zoya Jem

I had originally had thought about getting this polish when Zoya had that awesome buy one get two free promo where I got Anja, Cynthia and Petra. I was really in between Petra and Jem for my last shade, but passed on Jem. But now! Thanks to one awesome flash promo I was able to finally get it and man, I'm glad I did.

Jem, two coats. So... how pretty is that?!! This is definitely a polish that you need to see in person, but the photos come pretty close. It's a shimmery dark almost berry/ burgundy color that sometimes looks more purple depending on the light. The shimmer in it is awesome, it has pink and gold fleck-ish shimmer. In the bottle this polish is really cool, because you see these amazing swirls of gold shimmer. Beautifullll. It really can change color pretty drastically in the light, so it very difficult to capture all the different facets of this polish.

The formula on this is typical, awesome Zoya. Great pigmentation that makes for a super opaque polish. You could technically get away with only using one coat if you apply a thick enough coat the first time, but two coats intensifies the color. Also, dry time is really fast just like most other Zoya polishes. This one does need a top coat though, because it will dry a little dull (which I can totally overlook since this color is so pretty and dullness is easily fixable with topcoat). :)

Zoya Petra

I got this when I got Anja and Cynthia in a buy one get two free promo but never posted it even though I posted the other two. Fail, yeah I know. So without further ado.... here it is!

Petra, two coats. This one is from the Smoke part of the Smoke and Mirrors collection, so its a creme like the rest of them. This one is a dusty purple/mauve color. It really looks different based on the light. In some light it looks more purple, in others grey and sometimes even has a brown tone.

The formula on it is really good and has really nice coverage, but I wouldn't expect any less from Zoya. It's pretty self leveling (evens itself out on the nail so you don't need a million coats to make it smooth) which is awesome, and dries quickly. I always have high hopes for Zoya polishes and they never disappoint. Always a great brand to fall back on.

I also happened to buy two more Zoya polishes earlier this week because of one of their flash promos. If you haven't been following Zoya on twitter or like them on facebook you definitely should because there are supposedly more flash promos to come! These flash promos can happen at anytime and the only way to know about them is to see a tweet or status from Zoya! These tweets/statuses actually have the promo code and its only available for a select amount of people!

New from OPI: Nicki Minaj Collection! and Holland Collection! Plus a Zoya Promotion!

First up, the Nicki Minaj Collection! This will be available January 2012.

Super Bass- a record-setting purple that “shatters” before your eyes
Pink Friday- Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink.
Metallic 4 Life- This charcoal sparkle flies with the stars in the skies.
Save Me- I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter.
Did It On ‘Em - A lusty little lacquer that loves the “lime”-light.
Fly- I came to win, to fight…and to wear this aqua.

OPI announces the launch of six new limited edition shades inspired by hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj, including a purple Shatter!  Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday, the Nicki Minaj by OPI promotion will feature an array of bold hues, from neon lime green to pink.
“OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”

This is so Nicki Minaj and I love it! Save Me is crazy amazing, you need to enlarge the picture. It's rainbow bar glitter and looks so awesome! My next favorite is Fly.

Next, the Holland Collection for Spring 2012

top row:
A Roll in The Hague- Take advantage of this frisky little orange.
I Have Herring Problem- What’s that you say? I need to “sea” this shimmery green-blue?
Wooden Shoe Like to Know?- It’s no secret…everybody loves this shimmery chocolate-brown.
Red Lights Ahead…Where?- This coral-packed red is the hottest in the district.
Thanks a WindMillion- You totally deserve this breezy sea green.
Pedal Faster Suzi!- This pink lavender shimmer will have you “wheeling.”
bottom row:
Did You ’ear About Van Gogh?- Rumor has it…this sandy bisque is a work of art.
Dutch ’Ya Just Love OPI?- All of Holland hollers for this crowd-pleasing plum.
Gouda Gouda Two Shoes- Take a walk on the wild side with this robust rose.
I Don’t Give a Rotterdam!- This sassy steal-blue shimmer means business.
Kiss Me on My Tulips- A smooch-worthy shade of hot pink.
Vampsterdam- A deep purple for a divine diva.

OPI celebrates color with the Holland Collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Inspired by the country’s range of stunning shades – as seen in vivid tulips, windmill-dotted hillsides and bustling canals – the collection’s twelve shades offer a mixture of sophisticated neutrals and highly-pigmented brights.
“Holland has a very unique, vibrant beauty to match its open-minded nature,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Spring is the season of color, and the Holland Collection provides an array of pink, coral and orange hues that capture this energy. The bright lacquers are married with neutrals in new variations like red clay and sea green.”
“Wearing these colors on fingers and toes will accessorize the season’s hottest trends,” remarks Suzi. “The varied palette of colors accentuates the looks that walked the runway, from colored pants and ladylike frocks to long, blousy-sleeved tops and dramatic patterns.”

I'm definitely excited to see these in person, I do like a lot of them on the promo, but you never know how they'll turn out on the shelves.

Also, I wanted to note that Zoya has a buy 2 get 2 free promotion going on right now. If you have a Zoya account, they have put a special code in the coupons and codes section of your account. This expires 11/4/11 at 11:59 pm. Take advantage! It's a great deal!

Until next time,

Zoya Cynthia and Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless Varnishes

Up first I think I'll show you guys the varnishes from Illamasqua's new collection (the makeup is in the previous post).

left to right:
Faux Pas
Vice
Taint
Kink

All these polishes have a rubber type finish, kind of in between gloss and matte. When I was taking polish off my nails today, I actually got similar finish. It's hard to describe so maybe I'll have to show you guys the next time I take off my polish. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about the rubber finish. I'm not a big fan, it's just too undecided for me.

Anyway, If you want to see swatches, you can go here.

Next up is Zoya Cynthia. This is one of the polishes that I bought when Zoya had their buy 1 get 2 free promo going on. It was too summery to wear them back then and now that its almost looking like fall I've decided to start wearing them.

This is Cynthia, two coats. This is after about a week of wear and it does look a little dingey..I apologize.  I love this color! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for a dark blue but this one is like a really dark teal. You can see how the greenish tones come out in the sunlight. In low light it looks almost black.

Coverage is great and is completely opaque and nice and dark after two coats. It does need a top coat because I find that they do dry a little dull. The formula was very good, maybe a little thinner than Anja, but still smooth and covers nicely.

Until next time,
The Wicked

Zoya Gems and Jewels Holiday Collection and Color Club Foiled Collection

Zoya Gems and Jewels Collection Holiday 2011

Left to right:
Holly-  Gorgeous green glitzy, glitter glaze (with unique bar glitter).
Rina- Full coverage, rich green metallic shimmer.
Izzy- Vivid pink glitzy, glitter glaze (with unique bar glitter).
Kissy- Full coverage, party pink metallic shimmer.
Noel- Bold blue glitzy, glitter glaze! (with unique bar glitter).
Twila- Full coverage, icy blue metallic shimmer.

I'm not sure which are the jewels and which are the gems, but I do know that this bar glitter is awesome. There isn't much bar glitter out there and I think this is the first time Zoya is releasing some and they are really cool. They really take the regular metallic shimmer polishes to another level.

Here is a link to the swatches so you can see how awesome they really are.

This collection will be available Sept. 15th

Color Club Foiled Collection

There you go, names and all.

From Facebook: "Introducing Color Club's new collection of molten metal lacquers, FOILED. These 6 luxurious liquid shades are strong as metal and have amazing chrome-like shine!"

From just the bottles, they don't really look like anything special, but Color Club has been known to
sneak up on everyone with some really awesome colors and collections so we'll just have to see when they come out.

Zoya Anja!

I took advantage of the Zoya buy one get two free promo and got myself three beautifulllll colors from their fall Smoke collection.

(indoor sunlight)

(outdoor direct sunlight)
Anja, one coat. This color is gorgeous! It's a burgundy, wine color that kind of leans toward berry in certain light. It's super dark and vampy and perfect for fall.

The formula was great, super smooth and fantastic coverage. Zoya definitely knows how to make a creme polish. They have officially perfected the formula. It literally only took one coat to be opaque, which is amazing for such a dark color. Make sure to have enough polish on the brush or you may end up with some lighter patches. This is the only one that I've tried so far, but I have really high hopes for the other two.

Until next time,

LA Girls Graphite and Zoya promo code

The last LA Girls Metal! And after this just one for LA Girls polish!!

(shade)

(sunlight)
Graphite, one coat. Yes, just one coat. This has a dark greyish base with silver shimmer/micro glitter. This is a very common color, I feel like I've recently seen loads of colors that look exactly like this. Anyway, it does look metallic-ish in the shade and foily in the sunlight. It's really really nice in the sunlight.

This had the best formula out of all the Metals. It was thicker like Millennium, but was completely opaque in one coat. Totally impressed with this one since the others were definitely lacking. Just because of the formula, this is probably my favorite out of all of them. Really, they all should have had the same formulation and if they did, the whole collection would have been an A+ for me.

Also, just wanted to tell you all about Zoya's free shipping promo, if you haven't already heard, just use the code SWEEP2 at checkout :)

Until next time,
