Let's not forget the eyebrows

Eyebrows can change the look of a person dramatically. Eyebrows help frame the face and when shaped correctly can really make a person look better.
Having the perfect eyebrow however, can be challenging because sometimes our eyebrows are too light, uneven, or too thin. But today there are many products in the market that can help us achieve the perfect eyebrow.

Before getting into the products, I would like to say that you NEVER use black on your eyebrows, NEVER!! Regardless of how dark your hair is, no one could get away with using black on your eyebrows.

Eyebrow Products

Eyebrow Pencil:

This is the most common product to fill in the eyebrows. However, it can look very harsh , so when using a pencil apply it very lightly. Do not apply it with pressure because you will end up with harsh and sharp edges along your eyebrows. For a more natural look, apply it in short light strokes and then blend with  a brush.

Eyebrow Powder:

Brow powder is always matte and very pigmented. I find brow powder to be the most natural looking. Use a color that matches your eyebrow hair. Also, you can use a matte eyeshadow instead of eyebrow powder, you will achieve the same result. You will need a firm angled brush to apply it. Use light strokes and be sure to blend.

Eyebrow Gel:

Brow gel comes in a clear formula or a tinted one. The clear formula can be used to hold the little hairs in place to maintain the shape of the eyebrow. The tinted gel is meant to fill in the eyebrow while also helping shape it.

My Tips for Beautiful Eyebrows

  • When filling in your eyebrows keep in mind that they should not be entirely one solid color. Your eyebrows begin lighter and are a bit darker along the arch. In order to do this do not apply a lot of color at the beginning of your eyebrow, instead use the left over product on your brush and blend it.
  • If you have any hairs along your eyebrow that are out of space, you can use a bit of concealer to hide them. I always apply concealer around my eyebrow this gives them a clean and helps correct any little mistake.
  • My favorite angled brush is from the school I went to, Make-Up Designory. You can get it at http://www.mudshop.com/. It is the #210 Angle Liner Brush, for $16.00. This brush is very good for applying powder to the eyebrows and for blending as well. It is very stiff, which is great!Unti

Until next time,
